Residential Treatment at Destination Hope

Table of Contents

Residential treatment, by definition, is a live-in facility providing therapy for substance abuse, mental illness or other behavioral problems.

Residential treatment is very beneficial for individuals entering rehab for the first time, or for people who haven’t had much success maintaining sobriety in less restrictive treatment programs, such as outpatient rehab, where the individual lives at home.

Residential treatment is the most intensive and restrictive program offered at Destination Hope. It is offered via our day and night rehab programs with upscale community housing in beautiful South Florida. Our residential treatment programs are gender-specific and offer 24-hour-a-day supervision and medical attention.

Being that many people who enter our residential treatment programs are coming here, after completing a detox program elsewhere, it is imperative that our staff be available around the clock to help them acclimate and tend to whatever needs they may have. Your comfort is the number one priority at Destination Hope.

What Qualifies Me For Residential Treatment?

Currently, Destination Hope offers residential treatment for individuals who have problems with drug abuse, alcohol abuse and dual diagnosis, which is when a person is suffering from the co-incurring diseases of substance abuse and a mental illness. Each of these programs has a 30-, 60- and 90-day treatment plan depending on your individual needs. These programs include individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy, as well.

Individual therapy is very important, as this is where the initial relationship between client and counselor is established, to help get to the crux of that individual’s issues. Group therapy is equally important as it’s helpful for addicts to listen to the stories and experiences of other people with similar substance abuse issues to understand that they are not alone in their struggles.

Group therapy is what shatters the false impression that “no one could possibly know what I’m going through” in rehab, as you’re surrounded by kindred spirits who know all too well.

The final piece of residential treatment therapy is that of family therapy. It is increasingly difficult to overcome a drug habit without the support and understanding of your family. Family is a crucial component of transitioning back to your life after rehab, so we bring them in regularly to educate them on issues surrounding drug addiction in general, as well as making sure they are on board with your recovery efforts. Their assistance and encouragement are invaluable.

Destination Hope is a joint commission nationally accredited residential treatment facility for drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and dual diagnosis. Located in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida, we pride ourselves on providing a calm, nurturing, and safe environment for women to explore their recovery possibilities.

We know how hard addiction is on the mind, body and spirit. Let the experts at Destination Hope help get you back to the version of yourself before substance abuse took over your world. With our acclaimed residential treatment programs, we can provide all of the support you need to achieve sobriety and then teach you the tools of maintaining sobriety in your post-treatment life.
