Partial Hospitalization Program
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) for substance abuse are similar to inpatient programs in treatment, procedures, and methods. However, clients in partial hospitalization programs sleep at home each night and do not spend all of their time at the program facility. These types of addiction treatment programs offer a more flexible schedule.
Generally you will still have a full day of treatment (around 6 hours) most weekdays, but you have the option of living in our associated supportive housing or even at home in some cases, if you or your family are local to our area.
One of the benefits of a partial hospitalization program for alcoholism or addiction is that you get close to the same number of hours of treatment during the week as you normally do in residential or inpatient, but have some flexibility as to where you stay.
PHP for addiction also tends to be a little less expensive per day, which is helpful if you are a self-pay patient.
It can also make it somewhat easier to get a longer overall length of stay under insurance to make sure you get the help you need. Bear in mind that PHP is not a substitute for inpatient addiction treatment though.
In inpatient treatment, patients remain in a medical facility 24/7 and sleep there. This is a critical point for anyone who requires medical supervision even after hours or even someone who will benefit from limited contact with the outside world in the beginning of their treatment.
Your therapists and clinicians will determine what the most appropriate level of care is for you at any given time, but most patients participate in our PHP as part of their treatment here.
Partial hospitalization treatment is one of the most common forms of treatment and often serves as a starting place for people who are stable but need professional support in their recovery.
Often client’s partial hospitalization treatment will be followed by intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) or aftercare services to help ease the transition from treatment to home life.
Clients in the partial hospitalization program have access to all the same treatments and therapies we offer our inpatient residential clients and access to our Wellness Program and other amenities offered at Destination Hope.

We are very excited to begin offering a new service to our clients and hope to have positive outcomes as a result. Please join us in an optional in-service Recovery Bible Study every Saturday from 4:15pm-5:15pm. This group will be facilitated with various scriptures and will be spiritually-led.
Our methods of treatment are among the most specialized in the United States. We immerse clients daily in real-life situations with others in the community so that they develop practical skills. These skills become habits that are critical for fighting and successfully preventing relapse.
