About Us

Real stories of lasting recovery.

Recovery is possible. Our alumni are living proof that lasting change is within reach. They walked through our doors, faced their challenges head-on, and emerged stronger.

Will’s Story: From the Last House on the Block

Will had nowhere left to turn. By the time he picked up the phone to call Destination Hope, he felt like he had run out of chances. Relationships were shattered. Trust had evaporated. His family, exhausted and heartbroken, had reached a painful limit.

“I truly was at the last house on the block. I had burned almost every bridge I had, and there was nowhere else to go.”

For Will, the wake-up call came in a conversation he will never forget. His parents looked him in the eye and told him they did not want him around anymore. Those words, spoken with the finality of real limits, became the turning point that changed everything.

That conversation led Will to Destination Hope. Here, he discovered something he hadn’t expected: a treatment approach that treated his whole self, not just his addiction, but the underlying mental health challenges that fueled it. Through dual diagnosis treatment, he began to understand the connections between his substance use and his emotional pain.

Today, Will’s story is not about the bridges he burned; it is about the relationships he has rebuilt and the life he has reclaimed.

Zach’s Story: Openness Makes the Difference

Zach Lindwall arrived at Destination Hope uncertain. He had tried treatment programs before, and his expectations were low. “When I first arrived, I didn’t think any program could have done any better for me than the previous one I was in,” he said.

But this time, something was different. Zach came with an open mind. He was willing to listen. He was willing to take suggestions and follow through on what the clinical team recommended. That mindset, combined with meeting people who genuinely cared and working with an accommodating staff, changed his trajectory.

“Being in this mindset combined with the great people I met and the accommodating staff, I was able to begin recovering again after four attempts. Destination Hope made the difference.”

Zach’s recovery teaches us an important lesson: healing requires both a program that meets you where you are and a willingness to be met.

Our Alumni Community

For our alumni, recovery does not mean disconnection from Destination Hope. We have built a vibrant community where individuals can maintain their connections, celebrate their progress, and support others on their journeys.

Every Saturday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, our alumni gather both in-person and via Zoom for group meetings. This is a time dedicated to recovery, community, and fellowship. These moments of connection are powerful reminders that no one has to do recovery alone.
